HELENA, MONTANA CLASS UPDATE - WE NEED MORE STUDENTS TO MAKE THIS CLASS A GO FOR DECEMBER 4TH. FISHING GUIDES, IF YOU WANT AND/OR NEED THIS CLASS, THIS IS YOUR CHANCE. WE MUST HAVE 8 STUDENTS SIGNED UP BY MONDAY, NOVEMBER 27TH TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN. THERE ARE 12 SEATS LEFT. IF 8 STUDENTS HAVE NOT ENROLLED BY THE CLOSE OF BUSINESS NOVEMBER 27TH THIS CLASS WILL BE CANCELLED. ANY DEPOSITS PAID TO THAT POINT MAY EITHER BE REFUNDED OR THE CLASS STUDY GUIDES WILL BE PROVIDED. 1. Update!!! December 4 to 15th, 2023. This class has been moved from Missoula to Helena, Montana and is an in person attendance.

The classroom dates are December 4 - 5, 6 and 7th the first week and December 11, 12, 13th the second week and all are mandatory attendance. December 14th is review (not mandatory, but highly encouraged) and December 15th is test day. A student can wait to take the tests another day, subject to instructor and facility availability. The COST IS $1,495 PP. Payment by credit card incurs a 4% additional fee.

A $350 nonrefundable deposit is required. Once paid you will receive the course materials by email with printing instructions and secure a seat in the class. It is highly recommended that you take advantage of the early registration and allow for additional study time prior to the start of class as this has proven to be the recipe for successful completion of this course. Each student will have 3 chances to pass each of the battery of 4 exams over the course of 8 hours on the day of testing. If a module isn’t passed or (dropped), a retest of that module will be made available on another day. No dropped exam may be retaken in the same day.

3. In person March 18 - 29th - Spokane, WA at Spokane Community College. Upgrade to Masters may NOT be available here.

New USCG Approved Training site in Missoula, Montana. OUPV (6 Pack) Course starting March 6th

We just secured a new training site in Missoula, Montana! First class for OUPV (6 Pack) will be starting Sunday, Mar 6, 2022 and run through March 16, 2022. If you are interested in becoming a licensed captain as a fishing guide, tour guide or outfitter this is the course for you. The Course is 7 eight hour days of instruction with a test at the end. Class starts at 8 am daily with 2 separate breaks including the weekend off. Two of the instructional days are by internet so this is a blended course. Call Capt. 2022 OUPV (6 Pack) course - Post Falls, Idaho at North Idaho College

SCHEDULE CHANGE! Captain’s license training in Post Falls, Idaho at North Idaho College of Workforce Training and Development. The next OUPV (6 Pack) class will be held at North Idaho College in Post Falls, Idaho starting January 18, 2022 and run through January 28, 2022. This is a schedule change. Class is limited to 12 persons. Price is $1395 pp for the 6 Pack Course. Immediately following the 6 Pack Course a Masters 100 Ton upgrade will be held in the same location starting January 28 for 3 days with test on the 4th day for an additional $550. This class must have 6 persons as a minimum enrollment and no more than 12 persons. Class is Mon - Thurs first week 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the following week is Mon - Wed 8-5, review Thurs (not mandatory) and tests Friday ( all day). Call today - 307-899-1401.

Here is an update on the dates for class and some other information. Small change to the Cody trip before Thanksgiving.
The key is to keep repeating the questions and making flashcards. I’ll guide you on the flash card things, but this is most useful for the rules, which is the hardest test. You must pass each test with a 70% except the Rules test you must pass with a 90%. You’ll have three chances to pass each module. Each subject have the following number of multiple choice questions on the each test:

1. Navigation and piloting 20 questions
2. Charting 10 questions
3. Rules of the Road 30 questions
4. Deck General 70 questions

Here is the class schedule which runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. by interactive class on the internet:

Week 2 – 11/18/19 – 11/19/19, off 11/20/19 , 24 hours
11/21/19 and 11/22/19 (at Northwest College
in Cody, Wyoming) 8 hours each day
Week 3 – 11/25 – 11/26/19 8 hours
Week 4 – 12/2 – 12/3/19 8 hours

I will be sending you a chart and a Rules book by mail. You will need to get on Amazon and order your charting tools, including a divider and parallels if you want to start that earlier than when I see you in Cody. If you wait for your time in Cody, I’ll provide you with these tools. For the overnights in Cody (charting portion and maybe test retakes), I you might want to check with Big Bear Motel at (307) 587-3117. Send me your mailing address and I’ll get that in the mail to you. Some of you have already paid and the last materials will go out this week. We accept credit cards and checks.
